CORNERS: The Billboard Project

This is an art/architecture which just took place in Sydney. It’s a collaboration between 5 established Australian architects who used public billboards to encourage commuters to question the nature of the built environment around them.

Positioned at the gateway into the city (from the airport, and suburbs in the south), the billboards offered no context or explanations, inviting members of the public to wonder as they waited in traffic on their way to work.

I like this project because it’s subtle and very different from the sort of public art projects Sydney is (not) known for…
